They are one of the first to introduce CAD/CAM software designed for both machinists and engineers. is one of the oldest developers of PC-based computer-aided design / computer-aided manufacturing ( CAD/CAM) software. Founded in MA in 1983, CNC Software, Inc. Their extensive capabilities and varied backgrounds assure students of receiving the highest caliber instruction possible from the most qualified instructors.Mastercam (also MasterCAM) is a suite of Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and CAD/CAM software applications. The instructors bring to the classroom and shop many years of practical experience in the machining, tooling and manufacturing industry. Please contact Marcie Correa to find out students must have basic knowledge of shop mathematics and blueprint reading and be able to read and write in English.Īll instructors are credentialed or are working toward a credential in Adult Vocational Education.
Upon graduation, students may find intermediate to advanced-level work in the machining trade as a CAD/CAM programmer.Ĭlasses are available evenings and weekends. They also learn the basics of surface construction, including surface, model, and edge-curve creation, and surface shading and dialog. Students learn to develop models and study tooling usage for this type of machining. They also learn to define tool paths, and to prepare and modify part programs. Students learn 2D wire-frame construction, basic 2D programming, and the role of CAD/CAM system in manufacturing.
This program is designed to provide beginning through advanced training in the Mastercam CAD/CAM system of CNC programming.
